Indoor Farming Lighting

Background:

A leader in indoor vertical farming custom designed a PCB to control the brightness of 14′ grow lights. The PCBs were to communicate with the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC via Modbus RTU through an RTA gateway. Two systems consisted of 1500+ lights which need individual brightness control by an Inductive Automation SCADA system.
Maskine wrote modular PLC code utilizing 3 AOIs (add-on instructions) to allow for easy code management in such a large system. Maskine then developed a simple user-interface within Ignition to allow automated control of lights from MES commands, manual overrides, and simple diagnostics for up to 1000 lamps on one screen.
